200-hour Yoga Training — A Regenerative Path to Lifelong Movement & Mindfulness

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
More than a Yoga Certification
A path to transformation
Our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training doesn’t just train teachers—it transforms practitioners. Through regenerative movement, breath, and meditation, you’ll rebuild your foundation from the inside out, discovering a practice that is intelligent, sustainable, and deeply alive.
-
Most yoga wears the body down—pushing joints to their limits, isolating muscles, and chasing external shapes. Our approach renews the body through fascia-informed, functional movement that strengthens your deep core and reconnects you to your natural mobility. You’ll move better, feel better, and sustain your practice for life.
-
Yoga begins when you turn your attention inward. You’ll learn time-tested pranayama and meditation practices from a living lineage, giving you tools to calm your nervous system, expand awareness, and transform stress into steady presence. Whether you’re teaching or practicing, this training makes meditation tangible and accessible.
-
This isn’t just a tropical retreat—it’s an immersive environment for inner transformation. At our oceanfront ashram, you’ll live your practice each day through meditation, community, mentorship, and service. Nourishing food, nature, and spiritual depth create the space for true connection and renewal.
Regenerative Yoga:
Movement that Heals
Most yoga breaks you down. Our approach builds you up—restoring strength, fluidity, and confidence through fascia-informed movement that supports your body for life, surrounded by the warmth and beauty of yoga in Hawaiʻi.
-
Shape-based yoga often isolates muscles, stresses joints, and disconnects you from your core. Our method rewires your body’s foundation by awakening deep core support, strengthening the fascia network, and cultivating whole-body integration. The result? Natural strength, easeful mobility, and a body that feels regenerated—not worn down.
-
Too many practitioners suffer from yoga-induced injuries—like hip impingements, shoulder strain, and hamstring tears. We teach you to move with functional integrity, using patterns that protect joints, preserve tissues, and prevent pain. This isn’t just safer—it’s smarter movement that carries into every part of life.
-
Asana is more than physical—it’s an embodied meditation. Konalani’s approach to movement helps you not just slow down, but feel deeply and move from feeling, so you can trust that your practice is moving you toward healing. Our method is science-based, yet infused with awareness practices passed down through the yogic tradition—bringing together the best of both worlds to create a practice that is intelligent, intuitive, and alive.

Functional Physiology:
Anatomy that Moves
Go beyond anatomy with fascia-informed, holistic movement. This training teaches natural, functional movement patterns so that your time on the mat improves everything—from lifting groceries to running ultras, and everything in between.
-
Learn the natural design of your body—from joint structures to muscle chains—to build a practice that works with your anatomy, not against it. This knowledge helps you move with integrity, prevent injury, and create a foundation that lasts beyond the mat.
-
Most injuries in yoga come from misaligned effort and repetitive strain. Our approach trains you to recognize common pitfalls and adapt poses to protect your joints, tendons, and fascia. You’ll gain tools to practice—and teach—intelligently, with longevity in mind.
-
Forget muscle isolation. We teach you to build connected strength by engaging deep core support and functional muscle patterns. The result is strength that supports movement in every direction—on the mat, at work, and in daily life.

Revitalizing Pranayama:
Vitality Through Balance
Breath is the bridge between the subtle and the physical aspects of our practice. Informed by the science of pulmonology and neuroscience and the yogic tradition of pranayama, you’ll discover that the real power of breath isn’t in producing some big, forceful inhale, but in balancing your breath to restore vitality.
-
Your breath is your most immediate and powerful tool for healing, energy, and focus—but few ever learn to use it well. In this training, you’ll explore time-tested breath practices that help calm anxiety, balance energy, and build emotional resilience. By learning to breathe with awareness, you’ll change how you feel—on the mat and in your life.
-
Our approach to pranayama is shaped by both scientific insight and the living yogic tradition. You’ll gain a clear understanding of how breath influences your nervous system, your mental state, and your physical health. Each practice is designed to be accessible, practical, and directly supportive of meditation and vitality.
-
Breath is more than a physical function—it’s a gateway to meditation. You’ll learn the natural breath mantra and practices passed down through the ShambhavAnanda Yoga lineage, using the breath to turn your attention inward. Through these practices, you’ll develop concentration, clarity, and a steadier, more resilient mind.

Vibrant Meditation
Awareness that Transforms
Meditation isn’t just a technique—it’s a way of being. Our practice connects you to a lineage spanning over a century and four realized teachers, passing down techniques, philosophy, and the Shakti to make meditation a transformational part of your everyday life.
-
Most meditation apps and pop techniques offer tools to calm the mind temporarily, but ShambhavAnanda Meditationis different. It’s a living tradition, passed directly from teacher to student over a 100 years and across 4 generations of realized practitioners. With practices that help you awaken your inner awareness, not just quiet your thoughts. You’ll experience methods that are rooted in lineage, yet profoundly relevant for modern life.
-
You’ll learn a diverse set of tools to work with the mind and emotions: mantra, visualization, breath awareness, heart-centered focus, and more. These practices help you steady your attention, reduce reactivity, and open to a deeper sense of connection—within yourself and with others.
-
In the ShambhavAnanda tradition, meditation isn’t separate from life—it’s how we transform challenges into spiritual growth. This training teaches you to cultivate inner awareness in every activity, using meditation to move from surviving to thriving, wherever life takes you.

Intuitive Sequencing:
The Art of Creative Flow
Most schools teach you a sequence to memorize. We teach you how to create — empowering you to build original, feeling-based sequences (vinyasas) from the inside out, with tools and approaches you won't find at any other 200-hour level training.
-
Forget memorized routines. Our approach to sequencing is intuitive, inceptive, and deeply personal — teaching you to feel what comes next rather than follow a script. Through guided group explorations, worksheets, and simplified frameworks for sequence creation, you'll learn to build classes that are alive, original, and a genuine expression of your movement and your teaching voice.
-
Konalani's functional movement approach naturally incorporates direction changes, level transitions, and creative movement connections — high-level teaching tools that most schools don't introduce until the 500-hour level (if even then). You'll leave your 200-hour training with a movement vocabulary and sequencing capacity that sets you apart from the start.
-
Sequencing at Konalani is not just a technical skill — it's an artistic and spiritual practice. Every class you create is an expression of your personal capacity for movement, growth, and presence. We give you the frameworks to get started immediately, and the creative freedom to make every sequence genuinely your own.

Meet Your Instructors
Meet Acharya Satyam
Satyam Ehinger is the resident Acharya (Teacher) at Konalani Yoga Ashram and the lead author of Konalani’s 200-hour, 300-hour, and Meditation Level 1 & 2 Teacher Training Manuals. He has been living and serving in the ashram for 20 years and has guided over 85 Yoga Alliance-certified trainings.
After graduating with honors in philosophy from DePaul University, Satyam turned to yoga to help manage severe scoliosis, which he had struggled with since childhood. The transformation was immediate—both physically and spiritually—and set him on a lifelong path. After graduation, he moved into Shoshoni Yoga Retreat, Konalani’s sister ashram in Colorado, where he immersed himself in deep practice and selfless service. In 2008, he moved to Hawai‘i to help with Konalani and soon became the manager and resident teacher. In 2010, he was honored with the title of Acharya by his teacher, Sri Shambhavananda.
Today, Satyam co-manages the ashram with his wife Abhaya and serves as director of the ShambhavAnanda Yoga Philosophy Program. He pours his heart into every aspect of ashram life—from curriculum development to mango harvests—and feels deeply blessed to serve, swim, and raise a family on sacred Hawaiian land.
Meet Acharya Abhaya
Abhaya Ehinger is a resident Acharya (Teacher) at Konalani Yoga Ashram and lead faculty in the 200-hour, 300-hour, and Meditation Teacher Trainings. She has lived and served in the ashram for over 15 years and has guided more than 65 Yoga Alliance-certified trainings. A gifted teacher and curriculum developer, Abhaya has spent the past decade transforming Konalani’s yoga program—integrating natural, sustainable movement with practices that regulate the nervous system and expand our movement potential.
Abhaya discovered meditation in college, where she quickly became the student leader of the meditation program at Georgetown University. The spark was immediate and life-changing, leading her away from a high-powered career path and toward a life of deep practice. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in political science and moved into the Shoshoni Yoga Retreat shortly after. Within a year, she was already leading trainings—an unprecedented testament to her clarity and depth. In 2020, she was honored with the title of Acharya.
Today, Abhaya co-manages Konalani with her husband Satyam, bringing insight, lightness, and care to every part of the ashram. She loves distance ocean swimming, creative movement, and every moment with their daughter, Narayani.
