Spiritual Texts
These 2 Ebooks are wonderful ways to get familiar with the more subtle aspects of the ShambhavAnanda Yoga Tradition.
Spontaneous Recognition is a book of questions and answers with the living teacher of ShambhavAnanda Yoga, His Holiness Sri ShambhavAnanda, or Babaji as his student’s call him. Fundamental questions about how to meditate, how to open your heart, how to practice mantra, how work with tension, and so much more are simply and gently taught in the ancient form of Question and Answer, called Satsang in Sanskrit. These conversations occur in a meditative environment, and therefore allow for a higher kind of energy to flow from teacher to student, which makes the text so helpful and inspiring.
Rudi and the Green Apple was written by the co-founder of ShambhavAnanda Yoga, Faith Stone. Faith met her teacher, Swami Rudrananda, when she was only 16 years old. She has been practicing ever since, starting ashrams with Babaji in Indiana, Colorado and Hawaii. The story she tells is a very personal one that allows you to walk beside her on her path to growth from a scraggly haired artist to an award winning chef as founder of 3 amazing ashrams. The story is easy to read, fun and inspiring for all those wanting to see behind the cosmic curtain of what it really takes to have a spiritual life.
Though these books will not directly be discussed during your training, they may answer many questions you have, or simply give you a little background about the ShambhavAnanda tradition. Feel free to work with these texts at your own pace. If you enjoy them, know that there are many more publications by ShambhavAnanda Yoga that would be equally inspiring— these are just the start!
