The Power of Pause: Shiva Sutra 3.36 Part 2
We are always caught between a rock and a hard place when we experience the world through our mind and senses alone. The illusion of Duality makes us want to be there when we’re here, need that when we already have…so much. An endless cycle of accepting and rejecting that drains our life force and distracts us from real happiness. But what happens when we PAUSE in that space between here and there, between this and that? According to the Sutra, that’s when we finally ARRIVE.
This ‘space-between’ is a third option that exists outside duality, referred to as a ‘triple awareness’— but don't be fooled by the numbers— this space is not a thing at all, instead of creating more, this ‘space’ helps us experience what we already have. It’s a shift in awareness from the object, to the experiencer of the object— an experiencer already filled with the Bliss they seek.
But of course, holding this space of surrender takes practice, and as we do we are able to hold it with greater depth, until eventually, as the Sutra teaches, we quite literally level the mountains of tension and resistance that separate us from our True Nature.
