Homework
Wow— Thank you for a wonderful first class!! It was so amazing connecting with each of you! We hope class left you feeling empowered to dance with your life.
You have the next 11 days to play with and integrate the material :)
Here are some focal points for you:
-Bringing awareness to your foundation during your day and during your yoga practice. Play with slowly shifting or circling weight to give yourself tangible sensations to explore. Notice how this shifts your awareness and your experience of the moment.
-Imagine life’s situations as your music, how can you be present to the song and respond as if dancing? When doing your Asana practice, sometimes the “song” is the physical sensation in your body, including tension and tightness. Explore dancing with those sensations, how do they change? Can you find more support and ease? Let this be a spring board as you prepare the following:
The next time we meet, please be prepared to teach the following in a small breakout room:
• 1 or 2 poses cued in a way that help your student become more present to the sensations of the present moment
• For about 4-5 minutes
• You can use the exercises we did in class, or maybe you will come up with your own.
>> Additionally, we need 3 volunteers to teach a longer sequence (8 minutes) to the whole class. If you volunteer, you only need to write one 8 minute sequence, you do not need to plan to teach an additional 4-5 minute pose in a break out room.
Reminder to please attend at least one Tuesday yoga class before our next class. Here is info on how to join:
You may attend live on the 16th, the 23rd or watch a recording and send in a “book report” answering the following questions:
1- what is one new thing that you noticed in your body?
2-What is one cue that helped you?
3- What is one movement that you want to remember?
The yoga class will usually post on the blog by Wednesday morning.
