Day 4 ∞ Moving from Within
Shambhavananda Yoga asana practice—the yoga we do on our mats—is a unique blend of meditative focus, functional movement, and authentic Hatha Yoga. It weaves together the ancient tradition of inwardly focused practice with contemporary movement science, promoting more natural, sustainable movement throughout the body. At first glance, the practice may seem simpler or gentler than what you’re used to, but you’ll soon discover that it allows you to unwind deep layers of stress and tension, unfolding your body from the inside out. What we’ve found is that this intuitive approach leads to greater sustainability in the body, helping you open up and discover your own movement capacity over time.
Take a moment to browse the playlist below and click on a class that feels like a good fit for you. When you have the time, we encourage you to join a full class with Abhaya to experience the full arc of the practice. If your schedule is tight, you’ll also find a selection of shorter sequences below that may better fit into your day. We invite you to return to this practice periodically, fitting a class in when you can, so you stay connected to how we approach asana at Shambhavananda Yoga.
If you enjoyed the experience here, this is a sample of the weekly or bi-weekly yoga classes we offer. If you’d like to join us live online, we hold a Yoga, Philosophy, and Meditation class on the first and third Thursdays of every month from 3 to 4 p.m. Hawaii time. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect in real time, practice alongside us, and deepen your preparation for the work-study journey. Feel free to send us an email if you’d like to attend a class—we’d love to have you join us.
