Shiva is the Actor: Shiva Sutra 3.9

Shiva Sutra 3.9 teaches that a great actor is not someone who just externalizes an emotion, but rather is someone who can perform externally while staying connected within. Shiva is that actor. 

Because Shiva is putting on the movie of our lives. Literally, everything you see, taste, feel and even think, is a performance by Shiva. And it is this very performance that conceals our true nature from us. It is Shiva’s perpetual masterpiece, and there are no flaws in it. 

So we find that instead of trying to find Shiva, aka. Happiness and clarity, in the drama of our lives, we can actually learn to direct this movie alongside Shiva, as Shiva, by bringing our attention within while continuing to play our part.
