In Agreement: Clarifying Our Path Together
Growing Together: Our Work-Study Agreement
We hope you’ve been enjoying the time spent exploring some of the foundational practices of ShambhavAnanda Yoga. Whether you’ve been meditating with us, reading from Spontaneous Recognition or Rudi and the Green Apple, or simply reflecting on what brought you here, we’re grateful for your sincere preparation. Your understanding will only deepen as your practice continues—and we look forward to supporting that journey through the work-study experience at Konalani.
In the meantime, we encourage you to stay connected by tuning into our weekly live online classes on Thursdays, continuing your home practice, and revisiting the readings and teachings that have already helped lay your foundation.
As the final portion of the Essential Work-Study Prep, we’re sharing with you a simple agreement that we ask all incoming participants to read, sign, and return. There’s nothing surprising or new in this document—it simply puts in writing what’s already been communicated in our videos, conversations, and your inner sense of the space we hold here. Over the years, we’ve found it helpful to offer a shared reference point that clearly outlines expectations, responsibilities, and the spirit of the exchange.
Please take your time reading it over. Make sure it feels good to you. If you’re aligned, simply print it out, sign it, and take a photo or scan to send to us at konalaniyoga@gmail.com. It is also fine to sign it digitally and send it back.
The agreement includes:
A basic overview of what the work-study program includes and does not include
A clear reminder that you are responsible for your own well-being and safety
A note on how your image may be used (we only use flattering, respectful photos—and we’re always happy to honor requests not to use them)
An explanation of the one-month trial period and how that time will be evaluated
A summary of the values that guide life here: receptivity, responsibility, spiritual practice, and community engagement
Again, this is not meant to feel heavy or intimidating—it’s just a way to ensure that we all enter this shared space with open eyes and steady hearts.
We’re so grateful for the care you’ve already shown in preparing for this next step, and we can’t wait to welcome you in person when the time is right.
With respect and anticipation,
The Konalani Team
